9/11 Afternoon Update: Nate weakening rapidly inland, Maria exiting the Caribbean

Tropical Depression Nate is moving inland into the higher terrain of Mexico and is rapidly weakening as a result. The system made landfall as a tropical storm but the mountains are disrupting the circulation rather quickly. Meanwhile Maria is moving west-northwest out of the Caribbean and is expected to turn north. The system will likely stay offshore of the US Eastern Seaboard over the next several days. It is not expected to result in any major impacts at this time.
