EA Tropical Summary
- Describes the state of the tropics, including a discussion of areas of disturbed weather and their potential for development over the next 48 hours.
- Issued once daily (approx 5:30 a.m.) while there is an active tropical cyclone that may pose a threat to your location(s).
- Disseminated to designated supervisors and/or managers as defined by your company.
Executive Briefs
- Contain specific tropical cyclone information applicable to position, strength, speed, course, any additional relevant weather, and a graphic displaying the current position forecast track and models.
- Issued every six (6) hours in concert with the National Hurricane Center (NHC) when there is an active tropical cyclone that may pose a threat to your location(s).
- Disseminated to designated supervisors and/or managers as defined by your company.
E-Alerts & Wind Table Reports
- Contain specific and relevant text and graphical displays for the current tropical cyclone which is forecasted to impact one or more company facilities
- Contain the wind table report with forecasted estimates of wind speeds for an identified location(s).
- Issued every six (6) hours in concert with the National Hurricane Center (NHC) when there is an active tropical cyclone that may pose a threat to your location(s) within 72 hours or less.
- Disseminated to designated response staff/team as defined by your company.
Local Hurricane Statements
- Contain current tropical cyclone information from local National Weather Service (NWS) offices to one or more client facilities with potential impacts.
- Identify local NWS forecast offices (WFOs) that produce local statements to keep the media, local decision makers, and the public current on present and anticipated storm effects in their area. The hurricane local statements contain essential hurricane or tropical storm information in a condensed form, but expand on the storm's potential effects on the local area and on any actions declared by local emergency managers.
- Issued once or twice a day when a specific company location is in a Hurricane Warning.
EA Bulletins and Special Reports
- Contain basic information regarding active tropical cyclones within the Atlantic, Caribbean, and Gulf of Mexico basins.
- Issued once daily (approx 5:30 a.m.) while there is an active tropical cyclone, and once when there is a change in intensity to that particular system. (i.e., from a Category 1 to a Category 2, etc.)
- Disseminated to everyone in the company as identified by the client contact.
